wtf is githubgraduation-2022?

This repository is a digital yearbook for the GitHub Graduation 2022 event. It lets students who are graduating in 2022 add their name and a short personal quote to a shared, public list, and in return get a custom holographic trading card, stickers, and a letter mailed to them. Think of it as a virtual "walk the stage" for people finishing bootcamps, code camps, high school, or university programs. To participate, a student first fills out a shipping form so their physical swag can be sent. Then, they submit a pull request (a proposed edit) to this repository. That edit creates a small text file with their name, school, a senior quote, and GitHub username. The GitHub Education team reviews each submission, if everything is filled out correctly, they merge it into the yearbook and the student is officially part of the class. The audience is anyone who identifies as a 2022 graduate and has been verified through the GitHub Student Developer Pack, as long as they haven't participated in a past GitHub Graduation event. A bootcamp graduate who just landed their first job, a master's student wrapping up a thesis, or a high schooler heading into college could all use this to celebrate and get some free developer swag. One notable detail is the limit: only the first 7,500 successfully merged submissions received the physical trading card. The card itself is generated using the person's public GitHub profile picture and bio, so the project essentially gamifies keeping your developer profile polished. There was also an optional "Graduation Stories" thread where people could share videos or written accounts of their academic journey for a chance to be featured on GitHub's social channels, and a livestreamed ceremony on Twitch to cap it off.
