wtf is syria-government-design-system?

This repository is not a piece of software. It is a written analysis by a company called ManTek Technologies, exploring how a national government design system, meaning a shared set of visual and interface standards, could be built for Syria. The authors make clear this is an independent, unofficial study, not something created or approved by the Syrian government itself. The starting point is that Syria launched a new national visual identity in July 2025, including an emblem, a flag design, a custom Arabic typeface, and a downloadable logo pack, but no accompanying rulebook exists yet covering things like official colors, spacing, or reusable interface components for government websites and services. To fill that gap, this analysis studies fourteen existing government design systems from countries including the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Canada, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, and uses those examples to sketch out how Syria could build its own system, right to left and Arabic first, along with a rough plan for who would fund and govern it and how it might grow from a first minimal version to a fuller one over time. The full analysis is provided as two long documents, one in English and one in Arabic, with the Arabic version described as a careful adaptation of the meaning rather than a word for word translation. A shorter, more digestible version of the same material is also published as an article on the company's own website. Throughout the analysis, every specific claim is marked with one of three labels showing how solid it is: confirmed and sourced directly from an official Syrian government document, simply observed on a live government website without being formally written down anywhere, or a recommendation from the authors representing best practice rather than anything Syria has actually adopted. The authors state plainly that no color, measurement, or guideline has been invented, and that the official identity assets themselves still belong to the Syrian government and are only referenced here for the purpose of commentary and analysis.
