wtf is retail-cursor-pack?

Retail Cursor Pack is a small fan made mod for World of Warcraft, specifically the 3.3.5a client version that many private servers still run. If you have ever noticed that the mouse cursors in older WoW look dated compared to the modern retail game, this project fixes that by swapping in updated, retail style cursor artwork. The mod replaces 23 of the 33 cursor icons the game uses with their current retail equivalents. The remaining 10 are left untouched because the creator could not find a matching modern version to swap them with, so the project is honest about being an incomplete but still useful upgrade rather than a full one to one replacement. Installing it is simple and does not require any programming knowledge. You copy a single file called patch-y.mpq into the game's Data folder, which is the standard way older WoW clients load visual patches. If the cursor becomes invisible after installing, there is one line you add to a configuration file called Config.wtf to fix it, then you restart the game client completely for the change to take effect. Uninstalling is just as easy: delete the same file from the Data folder and the original cursors return. This is purely a cosmetic, client side visual change. It does not affect gameplay, add features, or modify game mechanics in any way, it only changes how the mouse pointer looks on screen. All the cursor artwork itself belongs to Blizzard Entertainment, and the project is clear that it is an unofficial fan creation with no affiliation to or endorsement from Blizzard.
