wtf is sidesearch?

SideSearch is a proprietary Android app that acts as a fast search panel and optional home screen launcher. From one place you can search for and launch apps, run quick text commands, use home screen widgets, check and reply to supported notifications, control media playback, and see other useful information like weather. You can use SideSearch as your main home screen launcher, set it as your phone's default assistant app, add its search widget to a home screen, or open it through optional edge handles you swipe from the side of the screen. The app search supports exact matches, partial matches, abbreviations, and typo tolerant fuzzy matching, and it learns from your usage patterns over time. On supported devices it can also use Google's on device Gemini Nano model for smarter semantic search and reply suggestions, all processed on the phone itself. Other features include smart handling of things copied to your clipboard, like phone numbers or tracking codes, without keeping a permanent copy of that clipboard content, plus quick commands for services like Google search, Maps, YouTube, ChatGPT, and Gemini using short text prefixes you type. It can draft calendar events from typed natural language and reply to messaging notifications directly from the panel, always leaving the final send action or reply confirmation to you. The app also includes a Focus feature for limiting distracting apps with schedules and cooldown periods, adaptive quick settings toggles for things like brightness and flashlight, and support for Material You theming including light, dark, and monochrome looks. SideSearch requires Android 8.0 or newer. It is distributed for free as a signed APK directly from GitHub Releases rather than an app store, and this particular repository holds only the public release information, not the app's source code, since the software itself is closed source.
