Video shotcraft is a skill you can add to an AI coding agent like Claude Code or Codex so it can produce short, polished product promo videos for you. Instead of writing video code from scratch, the agent follows a large library of prebuilt shot patterns, called shot recipe cards, that describe camera moves, timing, and style, plus matching sound design, and it assembles them into a finished film using a video framework called Remotion. The library included is large: 106 shot recipe cards covering things like camera pans and card reveals, 161 short motion preview clips, and 162 visual styles you can browse and filter in an online gallery before deciding what you want. There is also a ready made complete video template called Ink Press, a 36 second product promo in a paper and ink color style, which the agent can adapt to a new product by swapping in your own screenshots, text, and branding. To use it, you install the skill by pointing your agent at the GitHub repository, either by simply asking the agent to install it, using a command line tool called the skills CLI, or manually cloning the repository and linking it into your agent's skills folder. After that, you describe what you want in plain language, such as asking for a promo using a specific shot card, or asking it to use the Ink Press template with your own product, and the agent handles the video production itself. The project notes that many of its shot ideas were inspired by studying the motion style of well known product videos from companies like Slack, Notion, and Figma, though it says no actual footage or brand assets from those companies are included, only recreated animation techniques. Sound effects and music bundled with the project come from Mixkit under a free commercial license, and any product screenshots included in the template are placeholders meant to be replaced before publishing a real video.
